This was one of my earlier pictures of Shorncliffe, Queensland and one of the few black and white landscape/seascapes in my collection. I particularly like this one because even though it’s a black and white, at a glance it looks like it could be a colour frame of a particularly grey morning. I revel in how the jetty lines lead the viewer’s eyes out into the distance encapsulating a sense of intrepid adventure, while the hills and troughs of the water’s surface seem to lend a certain comfort in their reliable return to shore.
